Major Update!

Hello everyone!

Over the past few years, I have grown this account as much as possible, but as I am still growing, it is apparent to me that I must make some slight alterations in the data I provide to stay within the limitations from outside parties. I do pay a small fee to access such data, but the limit in which I can share any of this is strict.

With some recent posts, I fear this line of limitation may have been crossed; I will say I can’t say whether it actually has or not, but from personal reflection I feel I’m being risky. As a result, I will be limiting the amount of data published in the form of charts and graphs: apart from the official data available from BARB which has more clarity on redistribution.

This will therefore affect overnight data and non-platform data mostly. I will be limiting the amount of charts released, and honing in on new ways to present this data whilst following stricter fair use ideals.

As always, I urge my fabulous followers to show support to the official providers: BARB Television, Thinkbox, Overnights.TV & Broadcast Magazine for their dedication to UK TV viewing figures.

So, what changes do I intend on making? First of all, I will no longer be posting channel Top 10’s and will report a personalised Channel data piece each week, taking a few notable shows and the data therefore associated. I will be continuing with the official top twenty chart as usual, which some minor alterations made to make sure it is clearer and dedicated more securely to its suppliers.

Beyond that, I will not be posting overnight data charts at this time. I will still tweet notable figures, retweet findings seen online and endorse official providers with the data they release. Of course I will still be around if data is needed and cannot be found elsewhere, so feel free to get in touch at any time! I don’t want to let any of you down that have grown to find this account a useful asset, but I know the limitations of what I can and can’t post as the account builds.

I will also not be posting top 5’s for Netflix viewing, but will go down to reporting the top show and the UK’s most-viewed as this is more readily available for access.

I don’t believe any Box Office Reports will be affected at this time.

Since data will be limited, I will find other means to keep you all entertained, whether that be more comparative charts, reviews, funky new posts or whatever else I can think up (any suggestions would be wonderful)!

It will be sad to have to end a lot of the visual data, but I feel it is a necessary step to making a more secure future for @Ratings_UK.

I know this may not be the best start for the account in 2023, but for my own protection and peace of mind, it is what must be done, and I hope the content I end up producing you love even more!

If anyone wants to discuss this further, don’t hesitate to contact me by privately messaging me on the ratings account. If anyone has any advice and support, that is also greatly appreciated.

Thank you all, and thank you for your patience as we re-brand the account to continue providing you everything with safety, respect, and a wash of new qualities!

I am very excited to grow this account into something new, something more personal, and something more exciting for followers. From personalised posts for channels, to some funky new graphics on posts, to reviews, rankings, and more comparative data… There’s so much for me to consider, and I’m excited for you to see it all! I’d like to think I have the best followers ever, and I hope I can deliver some awesome content that is still insightful, but keeps us all secure!
