Death in Paradise slips back to 7.8 million, whilst The Masked Singer jumps up to almost ten million viewers. Pre-Transmission takes It's A Sin well above 5 million! Our top three remains quite similar to last week. The Masked Singer sees a rise of around 1.5 million on last week. This puts it two million viewers above Death in Paradise in second place, which dropped around 600k on last week.  Coronation Street 's highest figure is slightly up on last week, by 170k placing it in a high of third place. Emmerdale reaches tenth, higher than sixteenth last week, but only 30k up. EastEnders sees a drop in viewership with the highest figure being 4.9 million this week and 310k down on the high of last week.  Bradley & Barney Walsh sees a rise in viewership this week, up from 5.4 million to 5.7 million this week and a big jump in the chart (23 to 11). Despite lower figures this week, Dancing On Ice rises two spots to 24th. The Voice UK takes a big jump from 27th last week to 9th t

Doctor Who: The Big Review (Season 9)

Doctor Who: The Big Review Season 9 (1972) It's Pertwee's third season and there's a roller coaster of stories to come. We see the eagerly anticipated return of the Daleks, the arrival of the Sea Devils and The Master eventually returns to meddle with The Doctor. I'm quite excited for this season, it seems it has quite a lot to offer and we spread to other planets more too! Let's get going!  As always, I will grade each story on an A+ to F scale, judging it fairly, and with respect to the era it aired. Judging an episode from the 1960's with the same expectation of a modern episode would not be fair. Below is a summary of my grading criteria: For each serial, I will provide a list of the main cast (omitting a few who don't appear often), and a list of some key facts of the episodes, such as the writer and director. I will then offer a little synopsis and my overall verdict. My favourite serial will then be listed at the bottom, where I will offer a few fur

Death in Paradise achieves 8.6 million. All Dramas drop out of the top 30, apart from The Drowning for Channel 5. Pre-transmission data is proving evermore successful.  Monday proved successful for viewing with six programmes making the top 30 this week. Death in Paradise is back in first place as the double-instalments hit. The series had 8.6 and 8.4 million watching, putting it in first and third. The Masked Singer continues its uphill climb in viewership, this time edging ever nearer to the 9 million mark with 8.4 million. Those shows are our medallists for the week. Coronation Street then dominates the top ten, as expected, with figures ranging from 5.7 to 6.5 million. The lowest placing was 15th for the soap, way ahead of any other serial dramas like itself. Emmerdale hit a peak position of 16th, below every episode of Corrie. EastEnders could only manage 24th place, despite achieving a higher figure than usual of almost 5.2 million. Outside of soaps, dramas didn't manage

Doctor Who: The Big Review (Season 8)

Doctor Who: The Big Review Season 8 (1971) He's now firmly in the role, Pertwee is moving on to his second season. We say goodbye to Liz Shaw in the last serial of Season 7, making way for the wonderful Jo Grant (portrayed by Katy Manning). This season will bring in new long-time foes like The Master as well as harkening back to some other creatures like the Autons. With five serials, there's little room for error, so fingers crossed for a great season with some rather brilliant stories!
