Overnight Ratings Roundup (30 May 2022 - 5 June 2022)

 The Jubilee Celebrations put Sam Ryder in another huge show for 2022. The Outlaws & Top Gear are amongst the new shows beginning this week.


MONDAY 30TH:

Britain's Got Talent was Monday's best performing show, but could only manage 11th across the week with 4.32 million viewers. Coronation Street was close behind with 4.23 million, and Emmerdale had 3.69 million. Silent Witness was BBC1's best performance with 3.56 million viewers, just ahead of the BBC News At Six which informed 3.45m. The Chase had 2.84m, and The One Show had 2.68m. Springwatch on BBC2 did pretty well with 2.04m at 8PM, ahead of the likes of Pointless (1.81m), and Tipping Point (1.64m).

TUESDAY 31ST:

Falling further down the chart, Tuesday peaked at 15th with Coronation Street (4.23m). Britain's Got Talent sat close behind with 4.12m, down 200k on the first semi-final of Monday. Emmerdale had 3.84m, and Silent Witness brought in 3.53m. BBC News At Ten kept strong with 2.93m. At 8PM, DIY SOS brought in 2.08m, and Springwatch slipped to 1.63m (down 410k).

WEDNESDAY 1ST:

Now slipping to 19th place, Coronation Street was Wednesday's most-watched show with 3.87m, and Britain's Got Talent sat very close with 3.86m. Emmerdale brought in 3.52m, and The Repair Shop had 3.12m watching. The Great British Sewing Bee continued with 2.92m, and The One Show had 2.32m. EastEnders sat with 2.11m, higher than Monday's 2.04m.

THURSDAY 2ND:

The celebrations have begun, and the 'Trooping the Colour' scenes pulled in 5.31m at 10AM, marking a 65% share. The BBC News At One performed well too with 4.81m watching, way above the usual figures of 1m-1.5m. BBC News At Ten performed just as well with 4.8m. The 8PM celebrations also sat with similar figures at 4.29m. Outside of that, Coronation Street had 3.87m, and Britain's Got Talent dipped to 3.54m, just ahead of Emmerdale's 3.53m. With a royal visit featured in EastEnders, viewership rose to a recent high of 3.05m. The Repair Shop had 1.96m, and The Queen: 70 Glorious Years entertained 1.92m from 10:40PM on. Morning Live did very well with the celebrations, pulling in 1.69m (36.9% share).

FRIDAY 3RD:

Britain's Got Talent took to 1st place again, with 4.26m watching, 200k ahead of Coronation Street and Emmerdale's 4.06m & 3.31m, respectively. The Crown Jewels at 7:30PM entertained 3.09m, and the morning celebrations had 2.81m watching. A catch-up edition of Gogglebox entertained 1.84m, and Would I Lie To You? brought in 1.79m. Gardeners' World was BBC2's top with 1.65m.

SATURDAY 4TH:

This was where the big-hitters came out. The Jubilee Celebration show featuring the likes of Diana Ross, Alicia Keys & Eurovision's Sam Ryder entertained a huge 11.21 million viewers (66.8% share). The BBC Weekend News that followed had 8.94 million watching. Elsewhere it was a very quiet night, the best performance coming from the Hungary v England match with 2.72m on C4. The Coronation airing had 1.99m watching, and the film Darkest Hour had 1.65m viewers.

SUNDAY 5TH:

The final of Britain's Got Talent took an incline in viewership to a very comfrtbale 6.04m, but was still bested by more Jubilee shows at 1PM (6.31m), and the BBC Weekend News with 6.09m. Countryfile had an enlarged audience with 4.56m, slipping ahead of Antiques Roadshow's 4.23m. Top Gear returned with 2.92m watching, and The Outlaws returned with 1.88m. The Sunday Morning show had a large 1.7m watching.
