UK TV Ratings Top 30 (1 Feb - 7 Feb 2021)

Death in Paradise achieves 8.6 million. All Dramas drop out of the top 30, apart from The Drowning for Channel 5. Pre-transmission data is proving evermore successful.

Monday proved successful for viewing with six programmes making the top 30 this week. Death in Paradise is back in first place as the double-instalments hit. The series had 8.6 and 8.4 million watching, putting it in first and third. The Masked Singer continues its uphill climb in viewership, this time edging ever nearer to the 9 million mark with 8.4 million. Those shows are our medallists for the week.

Coronation Street then dominates the top ten, as expected, with figures ranging from 5.7 to 6.5 million. The lowest placing was 15th for the soap, way ahead of any other serial dramas like itself. Emmerdale hit a peak position of 16th, below every episode of Corrie. EastEnders could only manage 24th place, despite achieving a higher figure than usual of almost 5.2 million.

Outside of soaps, dramas didn't manage to make it into the top 30. The Drowning on Channel 5 is the only one to achieve a placing in 25th. This is a huge triumph for Channel 5. However, numerous shows are now being released as a boxset before air. With pre-transmission data, The Bay would have 7.08 million (putting it in 4th), Finding Alice would have 6.39 million (putting it in 8th), and The Serpent would have 6.6 million (putting it in 5th if the other shows mentioned aren't included). It's A Sin would also near the top 30 with that achieving 4.59 million.

Bradley & Barney Walsh remains stable, edging further up the chart with 5.4 million. Apart from The Masked Singer, the highest achieving competition series was Dancing on Ice which had 5.2 million watching (26th place). The Voice was just behind with 5.1 million. Musicals: The Greatest Shows just missed out on the top 30 with 4.7 million.
